A Jam-Packed July & August

JULY:
Another huge month for the team, packed with fast crits, big crowds, and even bigger efforts from every rider in DAS-Hutchinson colours. The National Circuit Series was front and centre, and we were proud to race aggressively and consistently across some of the UK’s best-known city centre events including Ilkley, Otley, Sheffield, Colne, and Guildford.
Robyn was flying all month and wrapped up the overall National Circuit Series title after a run of seriously impressive performances. Watching her ride with such confidence and class was brilliant and even better knowing the whole squad was behind her every step of the way.
Sophie, Lucy, Alice, Lizzie, Tiff, and Moven all played their part in keeping the team up front and in control. Chasing breaks, shutting down moves, launching attacks, and generally making life hard for everyone else in the bunch. Everyone stepped up when it counted, and it was a blast racing side by side with such a committed and gutsy group.
The series opener, Otley GP saw Robyn take an impressive win, with Morven finishing third and Sophie fourth. We kept the momentum rolling into the rest of the series, winning both the overall team classification and the individual series with Robyn.
One of the biggest highlights came at Guildford GP, where we pulled off one of our strongest team rides of the season. Robyn took the win, Lucy stormed into third, and we packed six riders into the top ten. A proper team performance from start to finish, and the kind of night that makes all the hard work worth it.
We also had a strong showing at the Dawlish Grand Prix, where the team worked together to keep Robyn safe and well-positioned throughout the race. Sophie delivered a brilliant ride to take second place, showing once again the strength we have across the whole squad.
Between the crit racing, we managed a quick trip to France to race La Picto - Charentaise. Julia and Noemie finished in the select lead group behind a solo leader, with Lizzie and Tiff not far behind. Unfortunately we lost Lucy to a crash, but thankfully she’s ok!
July also saw us welcome Noemie to the team and she wasted no time making an impression. After diving straight into the action at Guildford, she backed it up with a stunning solo victory at Witheridge GP, going clear and holding off the chase to take the win in incredible style. She was backed up by Tammy in third and Morven 6th, another great day out for the team. We’re delighted to have Noemie with us and can’t wait to see what she does next.

August:
August was one of the most successful months of the season so far for DAS-Hutchinson, packed with racing at home and abroad, and a string of memorable performances.
We started the month in style at the Bath CC Road Race, where Tiff, Ruby, and Lizzie dominated from the gun. Tiff took a great solo victory, Ruby finished second and Lizzie rounded out the podium sweep, also securing a National Masters jersey in the process.
From there, the team headed to Belgium for a block of kermesses and UCI races. The trip began in perfect fashion, with Robyn taking a great solo win at GP Désiré Goossens. Libby followed that up with 4th at Brugge–Dudzele, while Sophie added a podium with 3rd at Heusdenkoers before taking a great victory in the Braaschaat elimination race.
At GP Yvonne Reynders, the squad showed grit and teamwork throughout, riding aggressively in pursuit of another big result. Though we didn’t quite achieve the result we were after, Sophie came home just outside the top 30 after a tough day in the saddle.
Back in the UK, a reduced squad lined up for the Curlew Cup, the penultimate round of the National Road Series. With only four riders, the goals remained the same: win the race and protect Robyn’s series lead. Lucy delivered in style, attacking late from the break to take a solo win, while Robyn’s 7th place extended her overall advantage. Just two days later, the Belgian block resumed at the Egmont Cycling Race, where Tiff, Julia, and Noemie all made it into the very select lead group, another solid result against a high-class field.
There was little time to rest, as we then returned to the UK for the Cambridge Criterium, our home race and one of the highlights of the calendar. In front of friends, family, and sponsors, Sophie lit up the race, winning from the breakaway with a huge sprint. Libby and Alice both secured top 10 finishes after riding strongly in support.
The team then travelled to Brittany for the Kreiz Breizh Elites Féminin, one of the toughest races of the year. Against eight WorldTour teams and six ProTeams, Lucy wasted no time animating the race with a solo attack in the opening hour. All six of our riders battled to the finishing circuit in the reduced peloton, but once Elisa Longo Borghini’s attack split the race apart, the pace proved relentless. Most of the field was pulled before the finish, but Noemie dug deep to hold her place in the lead group, finishing an impressive 25th in just her third UCI race.
Finally, we capped the month at the inaugural Wentworth Woodhouse GP, the closing round of the National Road Series. Determined to finish the series on a high, Tammy launched a solo attack after the opening lap and held her lead for almost 80km to win the race solo. Lucy made it a 1-2 with another late move, sealing a dominant team performance. With that result, DAS-Hutchinson secured the overall team classification, Robyn wrapped up the individual series title, and added the Rapha Super League crown for good measure.
It was the perfect way to end an unforgettable August. The month brought wins, jerseys and some incredible memories, giving us all the motivation we need to finish the year on a high.
A huge thank you to our staff, sponsors, and supporters who made this incredible run of racing possible.
