April Round-Up
Full Gas from Flanders to France, and beyond. April kicked off on the cobbles of Belgium, with the team taking on two of the biggest races of the year — Dwars door Vlaanderen and Ronde van Vlaanderen. With world-class fields and relentless conditions, our goal was simple: get in the break. High winds kept things tight at DDV, but at Flanders, we made it happen. Aoife spent over 100 km off the front, flying the flag in a brave breakaway on cycling’s biggest stage. Despite crashes disrupting the rest of the squad, it was a performance to be proud of — proof that we belong in the biggest races on the calendar.
From Belgium, we headed to France for the Région Pays de la Loire Tour 1.2, where the team rode strongly, with Morven finishing just outside the top 10 in 13th. Back in the UK, we lined up at the East Cleveland Classic, taking on the brutal Saltburn Bank. Tiff powered to 4th, with Robyn just behind in 7th — both showing sharp form in the opening rounds of the National Road Series.
Meanwhile, our riders were also racing (and representing) across the globe:
● Lizi Brooke took on the Utopia Gravel Earth Series, overcoming mechanical issues but already looking ahead to Traka this weekend.
● Nora returned to the track at the International Belgium Track Meeting in Ghent, placing 5th in the elimination race and qualifying for multiple finals in stacked fields of 40+ riders. She also came close to podiums on the kermesse circuit, finishing 5th and 6th.
● Aoife grabbed the National Intervarsities title, representing Dublin City University in style.
To round out a packed month, we took on another monument of the sport: the Amstel Gold Race. It was a full-gas day with Robyn putting in a strong move to bridge to the break, before Natalie, Morven, and Lucy battled through crashes and carnage to finish in chasing groups. Off the road and onto the virtual world, we celebrated the launch of our new jersey in Zwift's Watopia with an amazing community ride — over 100 riders joined us to roll out the new kit. Thank you to everyone who came along! With the squad rested and ready, May is set to be another big month — kicking off with Elsy Jacobs in Luxembourg, followed by the Lincoln GP, and then across to Czechia for the Tour de Feminin.
Thanks for following our journey — and here’s to the next block of racing!
